Start your day by meeting your photography instructor/guide and discussing your goals for the workshop. Whether you're just starting out or have years of experience, the day will be customised to match your interests and skill level. Before heading into the field, your guide will introduce Leave No Trace principles to ensure you’re minimising your impact on Yosemite’s pristine environment, and address any initial questions or concerns.
For this workshop we schedule two sessions on the day of the meeting: a morning session that begins with a meeting half an hour before sunrise and an afternoon/evening session that runs from mid-afternoon to after sunset. Each session lasts three to four hours, ensuring optimal lighting for photography. Participants are welcome to join both sessions or choose to participate in just the morning or evening session based on their preferences.
Your photography journey begins as you visit hand-picked locations, carefully chosen to align with optimal light and time of day. Your guide will provide insights on everything from composition and framing to camera settings and advanced techniques to enhance your skills in capturing Yosemite’s awe-inspiring landscapes. You’ll also explore more secluded areas of the park, offering unique perspectives of Yosemite’s beauty away from the crowds.
The day concludes with a sunset photography session, where you'll capture the stunning colours that wash over Yosemite's iconic peaks as the sun sets. Throughout the experience, your guide will offer expert advice and hands-on assistance, ensuring you walk away with photos that truly reflect the grandeur of Yosemite.
