Embark on a challenging yet rewarding hike up Mount Merbabu, one of Central Java’s most popular volcanoes. Known for its stunning panoramic views, grassy savannas, and relatively gentle slopes, this trek is perfect for experienced hikers.

Begin your adventure in the early hours, often around midnight or 1 AM, to reach the summit by sunrise. Follow the Selo route, the most popular trailhead, located between Mount Merbabu and the more active Mount Merapi.

Trek through a mix of forested paths, steep ascents, and open savanna areas, with breathtaking views of surrounding mountains such as Merapi, Sindoro, and Sumbing. The return trek takes around 8 to 12 hours depending on pace and weather conditions.
