You can also explore Merapi using a nitrogen quad bike, you will go through several Merapi quad bike tracks such as the Gesikan Valley track, the Randu Alas track, the Water Fountain track, the Bamboo Corridor track

Spend your evening at Arumsari Cottage, where you can witness the stunning glow of lava descending from Mount Merapi’s peak, accompanied by tea or coffee and delicious local snacks, all in the heart of nature

If you prefer a more immersive and cultural experience, you can trek through Sapu Angin Village, where you’ll witness authentic life on the slopes of Mount Merapi. This easy trek takes around 3 hours and also includes a tree-planting activity as part of our nature conservation programme. At the summit, enjoy freshly prepared coffee served by a barista, all while taking in the serene mountain atmosphere. A guide and barista will accompany you throughout the journey.

We also offer several trekking routes for those seeking a longer adventure. One of the highlights is a trek through Kaliurang National Park to the legendary Pronojiwo Peak, known since 1983. This approximately 5-hour trek takes you across both Merapi and Kaliurang National Parks, guided by a certified local expert. Along the way, you’ll walk through trails surrounded by native trees and visit a natural spring on Mount Merapi. At the summit, enjoy stunning views of Mount Merapi before making your way back to base camp.
