Centring on the theme One feast spans a millennium, one show depicts Chang’an, Chang’an Preface Banquet presents a grand immersive royal court dinner show in Northwest China. Guests indulge in a dual feast of taste and vision, travelling through the Qin, Han and Tang dynasties to embrace the grandeur and elegance of the ancient capital, embarking on a cultural journey featured by fine cuisine and live performances.
Adopting the immersive mode of One dance for one course, one drama for one dish, the nearly two-hour show traces the history of Qin, Han and Tang. It reproduces classic stories such as Jing Ke’s assassination attempt on the King of Qin, Zhang Qian’s mission to the Western Regions, Drunken Yang Guifei and the Rainbow Skirt & Feather Garment Dance. With professional acting and stage design, plus interactive sessions, guests are fully immersed in the vicissitudes of millennial Chang’an.
This banquet upheld the ancient royal personal dining etiquette, serving exquisite court dishes that preserved traditional flavours while incorporating innovative elements, recreating the classic taste of Chang'an.
