Meet your teacher at our painting and calligraphy centre, conveniently located city centre just near the City Wall's East Gate. Your journey into Chinese calligraphy begins with a 45‑minute immersive session—starting with an expert introduction to the art's history and techniques, followed by hands‑on, personalised guidance. Your instructor will walk you through every detail: how to hold the brush, dip it in ink, and control the pressure and rhythm that give each stroke its character.
Feel the weight of an instrument that has carried the voice of Chinese civilisation for over five thousand years. As the brush touches the rice paper, let the flow of ink connect you to a living culture—one that has never ceased to evolve, yet remains deeply rooted in its timeless traditions.
After your practice, choose your finest characters and inscribe them onto a plain fan. Take home more than a souvenir—this is your personal imprint of China, a keepsake painted entirely by your own hand.
The full experience lasts 45 minutes, leaving you plenty of time to explore city centre afterwards. If you wish to go deeper, simply request an additional 45‑minute session (at an extra charge).
As a complimentary bonus, your teacher will also introduce you to traditional Chinese painting—both gongbi (meticulous fine‑brush work) and xieyi (freehand brushwork)—giving you a richer understanding of Chinese aesthetics. You'll have the chance to compare Eastern and Western artistic sensibilities side by side. And you are welcome to browse our gallery at your leisure, where calligraphy and painting pieces are on display for your enjoyment.
