What you can expect

  • Experience a sensory and educational workshop in an old family factory in Pizarra (Málaga), located in the heart of the Azahar Valley and very close to the Caminito del Rey. For two hours, we'll explore the historical and cultural heritage of citrus fruits in this area, the traditional trades of the Guadalhorce Valley — such as the cascareros, who are in charge of drying the peels in unique rural structures, and the faeneras, women who led one of the first women's movements in Andalusia in the early 1900s — and the relationship of the territory with aromatic plants.

The hosts will share the history of this family business, including anecdotes about the founder and her passion for local plants. The workshop combines accessible theory, practical demonstrations, and a guided sensory experience that connects aromas, memory, and territory.

    Workshop contents
    • Explanation of local plants: citrus (orange blossom, lemon) and aromatic herbs
    • Traditional trades: cascareros and faeneras
    • Essential oil extraction process
    • Health benefits and natural cosmetics
    • Live distillation demonstration
    • Guided olfactory tasting
    • Weather permitting, a short walk through the outdoor crop
