The largest salt mine in Europe, in terms of excavated volume, is the Slănic Prahova Salt Mine, also known as the Unirea Mine. It is located at a depth of 208 metres and occupies an area of 53,000 square metres. It is home to the purest air on the planet, and is considered an important tourist attraction in Romania.

These wines are appreciated for their tropical fruit aromas and the grapefruit aftertaste, specific to young Tămâioasa wines.
