Discover the wonders of Gardone Riviera with a combo ticket to two unique museums: Il Vittoriale degli Italiani and Il Museo Divino Infante.
Begin your journey at Il Vittoriale degli Italiani, a sprawling complex of buildings, streets, squares, an open-air theatre, gardens, and waterways. Built by Gabriele d’Annunzio with the help of architect Gian Carlo Maroni, this site commemorates the poet-soldier’s “inimitable life” and the achievements of Italians during World War I.
Next, visit Il Museo Divino Infante, home to a remarkable collection of sculptures depicting the Christ Child and, in some cases, the Virgin Mary as a child. Admire the craftsmanship of these standalone works, which range from 60 to 90 centimetres for standing figures and 50 to 70 centimetres for reclining ones.
See statues of the swaddled or nude Christ Child, the “Little King” dressed in rich garments, and the traditional image of the young Jesus.
