On this unique and original tour, developed by me, we'll leave Coimbra by Metrobus (about a 36-minute ride) towards the village of Miranda do Corvo to see its magnificent walkways and the extraordinary Serra da Lousã Biological Park. The Biological Park is an educational project of national value, with a relevant environmental, cultural, and social mission: 1- to protect and conserve the fauna and flora that inhabit or inhabited Portugal (it currently has 378 species of animals, such as bears, wolves, deer… and trees, such as arbutus, chestnut trees), 2- to employ people with mental health issues, but who are perfectly capable of working.
You'll have free time to explore the park and its complex (which also includes the Living Museum of Traditional Arts and Crafts, and the craft shop). Just like your walkways.
The tour guide's role is mainly to guide and accompany tourists to the sites, occasionally providing brief informative notes.
At the end, we'll head back to Coimbra. It'll take about 4 hours.
The meeting point is in Coimbra, near the Hotel Astória. We'll leave by Metro Bus. A quick (36-minute) and eco-friendly trip, where tourists can take in the views.
