We are located at the entrance to Valpolicella Classica, coming from Verona, on the central panoramic hill in the medieval village of Castelrotto. Our property is adjacent to Castrum Rotari (7th century), a historic military fortress considered the “KM Zero” of Valpolicella Classica.
Casa dei Fraccaroli (1790) – a family heritage for centuries and one of the oldest residences in the village, located in the romantic square of Castelrotto – today includes Azienda Agricola Borghetti Giampiero, the family boutique winery, and Castrum Wine Relais – Albergo Diffuso.
The tasting experience begins in the boutique winery with an introduction to the family history and the territory, followed by a guided tasting led by our sommeliers of five Valpolicella wines produced by our winery, accompanied by local gastronomic specialities. A gourmet platter upgrade is also available.
The wines included in the tasting belong to the “Castrum Platinum Collection – Vini d’Autore”, a tribute to the great sculptor Innocenzo Fraccaroli (1805–1882), a member of the family, with wines available exclusively at Castrum.
The tasting experience takes place in the boutique winery or on the panoramic terrace/pergola.
We also offer alternative non-wine experiences, with themed non-alcoholic cocktails created by our bartenders, dedicated to adults as well as children and teenagers.
The entire family – adults, children and teenagers – can take part in the experience.
By purchasing wines in our wine shop for a value equal to at least 5 times the cost of the tasting, the experience will be complimentary: the tasting fee will be deducted on site.
