Utiel-Requena, a protected designation of origin, is located less than 1 hour from Valencia and is an area full of valleys and vineyards in which the main economic engine is wine.
This winemaking tradition dates back to the 7th century BC. and it is one of the oldest in the world.
And this excursion will fully delve into the villas par excellence where Valencian wine is produced:
You will discover the wine processes and the fields of the vineyards, thus being able in the season (August-September) to taste the grapes from the vine itself and in October to tread the grapes.
On the excursion, we will visit two places, one in Requena and the other in Utiel: first we will go to the historic winery of Murviedro and then we will do the tasting at the Vera de Estenas Winery.
- Murviedro Historical Winery
Our first stop will be at the iconic Murviedro Historical Winery, located in the heart of Requena’s picturesque old town. Here, we will explore its mysterious underground caves, a 12th-century legacy originally used to store wine and food under optimal conditions thanks to their constant temperature. In this captivating setting, you’ll enjoy a guided visit that includes the tasting of a fine wine inside the caves. The experience continues in the main tasting room, where you can savour two additional wines paired with a delicious starter.

- Vera de Estenas Winery
Unique for its surroundings: you will find yourself among vineyards of immense beauty that surround an authentic and well-preserved villa from yesteryear.
It is Eduardo's family winery, which has been passed down from generation to generation. You will feel at home, surrounded by nature and tranquility.
