Day 1: Train Cemetery - Colchani - Hotel de Sal - Incahuasi Island
The sightseeing tour will start with a visit to the Train Cemetery to see the old locomotives.
We'll then head to the community of Colchani (gateway to the salt flat), where we'll find rustic artisan workshops and the traditional small-scale processing of table salt.
Continuing with the expedition to the majestic Salar de Uyuni, we'll make stops to see the salt extraction sites, the salt flats' eyes, and the Playa Blanca Salt Hotel, which currently only operates as a museum.
Later, we'll visit the most popular island in the Salar, located in the middle of the Salar: Incahuasi Island, where we'll take a stroll and be able to admire vast expanses of cacti, marine rock fossils, and spectacular 360-degree views from the vantage point.
Day 2: Ollagüe Volcano Vantage Point - High-Altitude Lagoons - Siloli Desert - Stone Tree - Laguna Colorada
The day starts with breakfast at the salt hostel. We'll set off for the Ollagüe Volcano vantage point to admire a volcanic desert landscape and the sparse vegetation of the high Andes.
We'll then visit the Chiarkota Lagoon, the Hedionda Lagoon (named for its smell of sulphur), the Onda Lagoon, and the Ramaditas Lagoon. These lagoons are surrounded by flamingos that use them as feeding and resting spots during their migratory journeys. At midday, we'll enjoy lunch along the route.
We'll continue our journey to the Siloli Desert, where the Stone Tree (a strangely shaped rock formation) is located. We'll then continue on to the Laguna Colorada, which is very striking due to its reddish colour.
Day 3: Fumaroles - Termas de Polques - Laguna Verde - Valley of the Rocks - San Cristóbal - Uyuni
The day begins very early in the morning with breakfast and departure to the fumaroles and fissures in the ground where volcanic lava and sulfurous gases are found.
Continuing along the route, we'll reach the hot springs, where you can take a dip and relax peacefully. The water temperature is between 25°C and 32°C.
We'll continue the journey through the second desert on our Salvador Dalí tour, which offers an excellent panoramic view and resembles this desert landscape.
Afterwards, we'll arrive at the Laguna Verde (its high mineral content gives it its characteristic colour), located at the foot of the Licancabur Volcano (5,916 metres above sea level).
We then head to the town of Uyuni, making stops to visit Villa Mar, Valle de las Rocas, the town of San Cristóbal, its Stone Church, and finally continuing on to finish our tour in the town of Uyuni.
