What you can expect

Begin your tour at the Ushuaia tourist pier. Depart by vehicle heading north along National Route 3, travelling through breathtaking valleys and unique landscapes. Pass through the Carbajal Valley and get a stunning view of the imposing Mount Olivia, one of Tierra del Fuego's most iconic peaks.

Take National Route J east through the province. This winding road passes through forests of coihue, ñire, and lenga trees. After travelling thirty kilometres, arrive at Puerto Almanza, a legendary fishing village where around thirty families reside, fifteen of whom are dedicated to the artisanal fishing of king crabs.

In Puerto Almanza, meet the crew and board the boat. Sail the waters of the Beagle Channel in a covered semi-rigid inflatable boat with a capacity for eight people. Thanks to its shallow draft, get within a few metres of the marine life, creating a unique experience.

Depart from Puerto Almanza, crossing Brown Bay. Cross the Guarani Passage later, accessible only to small boats, a strategic passage with abundant marine wildlife (giant petrels, albatrosses, Antarctic terns, and occasionally whales), bordered by Gable Island and Route J.

Your second stop is a rock in the Mackinlay Passage, home to imperial and rock cormorants. After rounding Gable Island, finally reach Martillo Island, where the bow of the boat will touch down, allowing you to observe the Magellanic and gentoo penguin colonies up close. Repeat this process at different points on the island to offer an unforgettable experience and try to spot a king penguin.
