Step into Mongolia’s rich cultural heritage with a live Bökh wrestling experience, a central event of the Naadam Festival and one of the nation’s most revered traditions.

Bökh, which traces its roots to the daily military training of Chinggis Khaan’s army, is one of the Three Manly Sports of Naadam—alongside archery and horse racing.

This self-guided experience gives travellers the rare opportunity to witness powerful wrestlers compete in ceremonial dress, performing ritual eagle dances and dramatic bouts that test strength, skill, and honour. Even outside the Naadam festival season, you can enjoy an authentic, living piece of Mongolian heritage in Ulaanbaatar’s National Wrestling Palace, the country’s only official arena for this iconic sport.

“Bökh is more than a sport—it’s a living tradition that embodies Mongolia’s strength, courage, and enduring spirit.”
