The Sea Freediving Baptism is a complete introduction to freediving, ideal for beginners who want to experience something different in Barcelona and learn the basics of this exciting sport.

The experience begins at our Vertical Freediving centre, located in the Marina Vela port, where our team of instructors will welcome you. We'll start with an introductory theory session, where you'll learn:

Basic breathing and relaxation techniques.

The main disciplines of freediving.

How to manage your mind and body underwater.

Safety rules and protocols.

All technical equipment is included and is specific to free diving: suit, fins, mask, belt, and buoy. We don't use snorkelling or diving equipment, as we're a centre dedicated exclusively to freediving. This allows us to offer you an authentic, safe, and tailored experience.

After the theory, you'll get kitted out at the centre and we'll set off from the same port. The boat is moored right in front of our facilities, which makes the logistics quick and easy. In a few minutes, we'll be out at sea, where the waters are clearer and visibility is usually excellent, especially in the morning, when the sea is calm and the surroundings invite calm.

During the activity, you'll be accompanied by instructors who are passionate about freediving and are also active competitors. They'll guide you with care and closeness so you can enjoy your first dives safely and mindfully. You'll learn to float, descend with control, and feel the serenity of silence underwater.

You don't need any previous experience, just know how to swim and be curious to explore your abilities. Each step is guided and tailored to your level, so you feel comfortable and safe at all times.

In the sea, you'll practice your first vertical dives, understanding how the body naturally adapts to pressure and how the mind finds calm in silence. You'll discover that apnea isn't about holding on, but about letting go: about trusting, breathing, and flowing.

When you get back to the centre, you can take a shower, relax, and share your feelings with the group. We have free parking and easy access by public transport.

Those who complete the baptism and want to continue learning can access the center's official apnea courses with a special discount, where they can delve into advanced techniques, compensation, and mental training.
