Itinerary:

Excursion to get in touch with the culture and tradition of Trujillo.

• We visit the crafts area, here we can admire the ancient techniques in the manufacture of ceramics and others.

• Then we head towards the Huacas del Sol y la Luna archaeological complex composed of two large adobe buildings dedicated to Moche administrative and religious rites. Wall paintings and remains of human sacrifices have been found. The main temples of the Moche in the North of Peru and who ruled this area of Trujillo and its valleys for around 800 years.

• Next we have time for lunch

• Then we go to Chanchan where you can see large squares and beautiful reliefs dedicated to the sea. Archaeological complex to visit the Site Museum, a place where we will have an introduction to the Chimú culture through ceramics, wooden sculptures, legend of origin and a model of the entire city.

• We finish in Huanchaco, a popular beach on our typical coastline for its boats called “caballitos de totora”. While you walk along the beach and the promenade of this old fishing cove you will be able to see the curious “caballitos de totora:, traditional boats that the fishermen of the area have been using for centuries, since the times of the Mochica and Chimú civilisations. Boats made from a plant from the area. It will surely surprise you!
