Imagine standing beneath a vast Arctic sky filled with countless stars, after a journey through snow-covered landscapes in search of clear skies. The snow crunches under your feet, the air is crisp, and above you, the Northern Lights dance in ribbons of green, with occasional hints of pink and red — sometimes calm and graceful, sometimes wild and alive. This is what we set out to find together.
Our small-group Northern Lights tour in Tromsø, limited to 19 guests, is led by a friendly and dedicated local guide and an experienced Arctic driver who know the land, the weather, and the remote spots far from the city glow. Each evening is unique, and our 4–7-hour chase adapts to the night’s conditions to give you the highest chance of witnessing the aurora.
We may travel along the dramatic coastline, cross frozen valleys, or even head over the border to Finland — always searching for the clearest skies. During the tour, your guide will share stories about Arctic life and explain the science behind the Northern Lights, adding depth to the beauty above.
When the aurora appears, your guide — also a skilled photographer — works with you to create high-quality portraits under the lights. This collaboration ensures each image captures not only your smile but also the clarity, detail, and atmosphere of the moment.
During the evening, we take time to enjoy hot drinks, a traditional Norwegian snack, and always homemade cake or bakery — a warm taste of Arctic hospitality.
The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and no two displays are ever the same — from soft, flowing bands to vivid, fast-moving curtains of light. Whether it’s your first time or you’ve seen them before, the excitement is always there.
At the end of the evening, we return guests to central locations in Tromsø. Drop-off is available at the original pick-up point, hotels located in the city centre, the Tromsø Library, or the central taxi rank. For guests staying in Tromsdalen, we also offer drop-off at the Arctic Cathedral (Ishavskatedralen) or at Pyramiden. Drop-off locations are coordinated by the guide during the tour to ensure a safe and efficient return for all guests.
We look forward to sharing this Arctic adventure with you.
