It is a market in the city centre near Dongdaemun and is the first private permanent market in Korea, established in 1905. It is one of the most active traditional markets in Seoul, and it is easy for travellers to go because it is located in the centre of the city. The traditional market, with a long history formed in the early 20th century, deals with various items such as clothing and food, and the food market is especially famous. It is overflowing with assorted pancakes, king tteokbokki, and fish cakes, which are fun to choose and eat, including “Narcotic kimbap” and savoury mung bean pancakes that are baked on the spot. You can enjoy it at a reasonable price and stop by with a light heart. If you are interested in clothing, it is also fun to stop by the hanbok store, where you can see colourful hanboks and the old clothes store on the second floor.
