What you can expect

  • Embark on a journey through the architecture and legal history of the building of the former Reich Court. In 1879, the Reich Court was established as the highest court of the German Reich, and this grand building was constructed for it. Both its exterior and interior reflect the tradition of the judiciary. Karl Liebknecht defended himself here against the charge of high treason, and the Reichstag Fire Trial took place here in 1933. The Federal Administrative Court (BVerwG) has been housed in the building since 2002. On our guided tour, the tasks and work of the Federal Administrative Court are presented in an informative way. The Federal Administrative Court is the highest administrative court in the Federal Republic of Germany. It rules on disputes in the field of administrative law.
