Set sail with us on board our boat, a traditional “Tortuga” bragozzo: an authentic experience combining nature, flavours, and tradition. We will sail across the Venice Lagoon to reach the island of Sant’Erasmo, known as “Venice’s vegetable garden” for its agricultural heritage and production of excellent local products.
Our destination is a small association headquarters nestled in the island’s tranquil setting, overlooking the lagoon and surrounded by a well-kept garden and a vegetable patch cultivated using natural methods. Here, thanks to our partnership with a local organisation dedicated to promoting the area, you will have the opportunity to experience a moment of genuine connection with the environment and the agricultural culture of the lagoon.
After a welcome and a brief introduction to the association’s activities, the tasting will begin:
• Local wines produced on the island, with a fresh, mineral character resulting from the sandy soil and the influence of the sea.
• Traditional Venetian cicchetti, prepared using seasonal ingredients and produce from the garden.
• Jams, preserves, and honey made from locally grown fruit and flowers, with a delicate and natural flavour.
• A selection of essential oils and aromatic waters, made from medicinal and aromatic plants grown in the garden, which you can smell, taste, or use in simple sensory concoctions.
In a relaxed and familiar atmosphere, you will get to know a different side of Venice up close, a place of tranquility, nature, and living traditions. No crowds, no urban noise – just the scent of herbs, the sound of water, and the authentic flavour of the land’s produce.
After spending about two hours on the island, we will return to Venice by boat, enjoying the light and tranquility of an afternoon on the lagoon.
