What you can expect

  • Start your morning at a traditional market, where you will discover and select fresh ingredients for the day's meal. Then, travel into the countryside to a local village and garden, where you will learn about one of Minahasa's traditional livelihoods — collecting palm sap and transforming it through traditional distillation into Cap Tikus, a traditional Minahasan spirit.

    After discovering the traditional distilling process, take part in preparing and cooking a local meal using fresh ingredients from the market and garden. Finally, sit together with local hosts and enjoy the food you helped prepare.
