The head shrine of over 1,300 Japanese Asama shrines, the core sacred site of Mt.Fuji Shinto culture.
Along the shrine’s approach, you will walk through a tall, straight cedar forest, lined with ancient moss-covered stone lanterns that create a quiet and sacred atmosphere. Within the grounds stands a thousand-year-old sacred cedar tree, honoured as a divine symbol of Mt. Fuji. The large silver torii gate inscribed with “Mt. Fuji” marks the entrance to this sacred space, making it one of the most iconic sights here.
