What you can expect

  • On board the modern salon ship MS “August der Starke,” technology, history and vibrant storytelling come together: Presenter Dirk Ebersbach guides you through the exciting development of our last 190 years in a multimedia and interactive way, and invites interesting guests to join him at each event.

An impressive timeline that stretches across the entire ship makes the milestones in the history of the Saxon Steamboat Company visible and invites you to explore. QR codes take you to short videos in which guests and staff share their experiences with the fleet – supplemented by interesting facts and background information on special events. Interesting exhibits captivate visitors as they stroll through the ship.

Families are also catered for: On our creative island, children (and adults) can tie maritime knots and put small craft ideas into practice – in a playful, informative and hands-on way.
Tip for families: Family Time on 11/01/2026/11/08/2026/11/22/2026, each starting at 11:30 AM

The trip is rounded off with culinary delights just like in the old days: rustic classics that evoke memories of the good old times come together with the special atmosphere of sailing on the Elbe.

Accompanied by live piano music that will transport you musically to bygone eras, this experience tour becomes a journey through time, where history is not just narrated but can be experienced with all the senses.
