We visit various different stops for bites, the equivalent of a big lunch!

On the way we will do a liquor tasting in one of the oldest distilleries in the Netherlands. We end the tour with a 'borrel', Dutch for a drink with friends. Non-alcoholic options also available!

Activity itinerary

Lange Voorhout (Pass by)

Of course we need to do what the locals do: promenade over the Lange Voorhout, where the old linden trees surround you. This charming area will transport you right back to the 1500s. Hear the gravel crackle under your feet, while we walk the middle section; which is car and bike free.

Noordeinde Palace (Pass by)

The Hague, the centre of the Dutch monarchy. We cannot let you visit this city without seeing the royal palace! Located in a shopping street, the surprise is even larger when suddenly, you are at arms reach of the King of The Netherlands. Or maybe you will see the Queen, walking around with shopping bags on her arm. We'll spill the tea and give you some secret tips, just in case you come back in September.

Getting hungry from our royal stories? Do not worry, we got you covered. Tamara and her mother are going to provide us with an amazing Italian sandwich and some charcuterie. No worries if you are vegetarian or vegan, we have got alternatives. Afterwards you will have the energy you need for the next stretch.

Uitzichtpunt Binnenhof (Pass by)

The Hague, though not the capital of The Netherlands, is the political centre of the country. So many things happened here over the centuries and boy, do we have some stories to tell you. We will see the Prime Minister's office, flanked by the amazing Mauritshuis, but also the first museum in The Netherlands, with a morbid backstory....

Passage (Pass by)

This city has many firsts. This area is a big one. You will be able to see the first shopping centre in The Netherlands. Still in use today, make sure to look up to the ceiling while you are here.

The Royal butcher. Our King knows what he likes and we are following his example. We will have a great, Dutch delicacy. Made with love, but also with the highest standard, worthy of the predicate of Purveyor to the Royal Household. And as you will know by this point of the tour...we love to eat like kings and queens.

There are legends and there are legends. Visiting an almost 200-year-old bakery on our tour? Come on, like we would leave you hanging. Of course we are going here. And let us tell you a bit a secret: your guide would be very upset if we would stop going here. It's a no-brainer, this place cannot be missed.

Paleistuin (Pass by)

Seeing as we are still in the Royal Quarter of The Hague, why not give the Palace Gardens a visit? Placed at the rear of the Royal Palace (larger than it seemed from fhe front, right?), we will take a nice stroll in one of the few parks the centre of The Hague has got. Try to imagine you having a picknick, drinking a cheeky glass of wine or maybe doing some yoga in the morning. This park definitely is multifunctional.

Van Kleef Distillery Museum

Drinking water was not the best idea for a long time in human history. But of course, people had plenty of ideas to mitigate the danger. Bring in the distilleries! This old one, now a museum, still uses recipes of hunderds of years ago. We will take a quick look at the history, but we cannot leave without having had a taste of some liquors, both old flavours and new. Their prized possession? The first telephone book of The Hague. And which place hold phone number #1?

Chinatown (Pass by)

The lanterns and the street signs give it away: we are in Chinatown. The place in The Hague where you can have some great, authentic Chinese food. But not only Chinese, also other Asian cuisines are found in this area. But has it always been Chinatown? The guide will have some background.

Chinatown is not only home to awesome Chinese food, but also to some amazing Indonesian food. The history of Indonesians in The Hague is a long one and both have been interwoven for a large amount of time. We will tell you all about it, but we think it is a good idea to do this while we enjoy some chicken soup and satay.

Ah, Haagse Harry. The hair, the tracksuit, the beer belly, the attitude. This man oozes The Hague, so we need to spend some time talking about him. Additionally, this is a great moment for a photo, who does not want to give his belly a big hug?!

Unfortunately, even great things come to an end at some point. Our final stop is a great one though (would you have expected any less?). In an old butter auction building, we will have a drink and, why not, some final bites. In summer we will enjoy the terraces outside, where we can sit until the sun goes down.

We will start the tour in the best way possible: with a good cup of coffee or tea. This local coffee roaster, which has been in business for more than 170 years, creates their own blends of coffee and tea, in-house. We can see the roasting machine in action, admire the enormous amount of teas and smell all the great coffees. And of course, we get a good cuppa.
