Tandem paragliding flights in Bulgaria are among the most beautiful experiences you can have. There is no engine noise and no glass separating you from nature. You hear only the sound of the wind on your face. All the places we fly from are surrounded by nature, and getting to them and being there is already an adventure in itself. During the flight, if you wish, your instructor will share many interesting things about Bulgaria with you.
We mainly fly from four locations in Bulgaria. Near the capital city, Sofia, we fly from Vitosha Mountain. We use public transport to reach the mountain, and then we hike for about 25 minutes to the takeoff point across the beautiful Vitosha plateau. Flying here is mainly possible from summer until late autumn.
The other locations where we fly are located near the former capital and one of the most beautiful cities in Bulgaria – Veliko Tarnovo.
Skalsko is our main flying site for flights near Veliko Tarnovo. It is located about 40 minutes by car from Veliko Tarnovo. The takeoff point is situated on a platform above a beautiful rocky cliff.
The next location is about 90 minutes from Veliko Tarnovo and only 10 minutes from the town of Kazanlak. It is located in the Balkan Mountains, very close to the famous communist monument visited by many tourists, which resembles an alien spaceship — Buzludzha. In the valley where we land, you can find the tombs of the Thracian kings. This is the renowned Rose Valley, which supplies rose oil to the world.
For the takeoff near Buzludzha, we often use transport provided by a local driver with a high-clearance off-road vehicle, which takes us up into the mountains to the launch site above the Rose Valley.
Last but not least, we also fly in Sopot, located 60 kilometres north of the city of Plovdiv. This is the main site for sport paragliding in Bulgaria. We mainly fly here during the summer and need to take the operating hours of the cable car into account.
From every flight, you will receive photos and a video of your flight. At all locations, you only need to take a few steps and follow your pilot’s instructions.

The maximum passenger weight must not exceed 120 kg! Passengers over 100 kg and lightweight children under 40 kg must be declared in advance before the flights are organised!
