Wake up surrounded by the sounds of the Amazon rainforest and enjoy a traditional breakfast prepared with local ingredients, including fresh tropical fruits, Peruvian coffee, eggs, pancakes, and regional specialities. At approximately 09:30 AM, begin the journey towards the Sandoval Lake Reserve area. After a short river crossing and registration at the control station, continue with a guided walk through the rainforest trail leading to Lake Sandoval. Along the route, discover the rich biodiversity of the Tambopata region, including native plants, tropical birds, monkeys, and other wildlife commonly found in the area. With favourable conditions, visitors may also observe giant river otters in their natural habitat.

Sandoval Lake Experience Upon arrival at Lake Sandoval, enjoy the peaceful scenery of one of the most beautiful lakes in the Peruvian Amazon. After lunch surrounded by nature, continue the exploration aboard a traditional rowing canoe across the lake. This area is known for its remarkable birdlife and rainforest landscapes. Depending on the season and natural conditions, visitors may observe species such as hoatzins, herons, cormorants, and other native wildlife around the lake. Following the excursion, return to the lodge to relax and enjoy the Amazon atmosphere. Night Jungle Walk In the evening, take part in a guided night walk through nearby rainforest trails. This experience offers the opportunity to discover the sounds and movements of the jungle after sunset while learning about nocturnal species and the Amazon ecosystem from your local guide. After the activity, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation in the heart of the rainforest.

Start the day with a traditional Amazon breakfast surrounded by the peaceful sounds of the rainforest. At approximately 08:00 AM, enjoy a guided visit to a local Amazonian community to learn more about the customs, traditions, and daily lifestyle of families living in the Tambopata region. This cultural experience offers valuable insight into ancestral knowledge, local craftsmanship, and the connection between the community and the rainforest environment. Visitors will also have the opportunity to appreciate handmade artwork and traditional paintings created by local residents. Amazon Fishing Experience Later, continue by boat to a nearby natural area for a traditional fishing activity commonly practised in the Amazon region. Accompanied by your guide, learn about local fishing techniques and the variety of fish species that inhabit the waterways of Tambopata. Following the activity, return to the lodge where lunch inspired by regional flavours will be served.

Free Time at the Lodge The afternoon is available to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the Amazon rainforest. Guests may rest in the hammocks, observe nature around the lodge, or simply enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of the jungle. In the evening, dinner will be served at the lodge, followed by overnight accommodation in the Tambopata rainforest.

On the final day of your Tambopata Amazon adventure, begin with an early morning river excursion towards the Parrot Clay Lick, one of the most fascinating natural spectacles in the Peruvian Amazon. From a comfortable observation area, watch as different species of parrots and parakeets gather along the clay wall during sunrise hours, creating a colourful and memorable rainforest experience. Depending on seasonal and natural conditions, visitors may observe blue-headed parrots, small parakeets, and other native bird species commonly found in the Tambopata region. This activity offers excellent opportunities for nature photography, birdwatching, and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the Amazon at dawn. After the excursion, return to the lodge for breakfast and some time to prepare for departure. Later, transfer back to Puerto Maldonado. According to your flight or bus departure schedule, transport will be arranged to the airport or bus terminal.
