We set off into the heart of the massif, to discover a superb mountain forest of varied species, whose undergrowth displays magnificent colours in spring and autumn. We finish the hike with a shared aperitif by the Lac des Monges, watching the sun set over the surrounding ridges.
Programme - Hike in the Monges national forest, then in the mountain pastures - Climb to the Clapouse pastures for a view of the surrounding peaks (Estrop, Blayeul) - Botanical observations in the forest - Shared aperitif at the top of the ridges or by the Lac des Monges - Games and stories for children to discover the mountain's nocturnal and twilight fauna.
Supervision - Group hikes (max 13 people), supervised by a mountain leader based in Sisteron. He will provide you with technical information and help you discover the local environment. The itinerary may be modified according to weather conditions or participants' physical condition.
Level of difficulty - Level 3/5. 6.5km, approx. 2h45 effective walking time and 330m ascent over the course of the afternoon/evening. Suitable for occasional and regular walkers, on well-marked paths only, with no steep gradients. Children are welcome; special activities can be arranged for them. Essential equipment - 1 comfortable rucksack (20-30L) for your belongings // mountain boots with crampons (no smooth trainers) // 1 outfit suitable for walking (light, breathable clothing) // 1 water bottle (minimum 1L/person for the outing) // 1 cap or hat, sunglasses and sun cream // 1 technical waterproof windbreaker (Gore-tex type) or k-way // 1 extra jumper for the evening // Headlamp // your medical treatment (if you have any).
