What you can expect
Experience the “Miracle of Stuttgart”: Europe's largest city model unfolds across 180 m², faithfully reproducing the urban landscape of Stuttgart in the 80s and 90s – created by just one person, Wolfgang Frey.
In 15 years of construction, the dispatcher has created a unique city model from waste materials, bulky waste, paint, and glue. Each element is unique: over 450 buildings at a scale of 1:160, 2,500 hand-painted vehicles, and 4,000 trees bring the past to life. Particularly fascinating are the 2,500 individually made tombstones and the former, functioning signal box with an 8 metre long control panel and 8 control tables.
Nothing comes from prefabricated kits! Everything was researched, planned, and built with the highest precision by Wolfgang Frey himself. Looking at the streets, the buildings, the trains, and even the smallest details like rubbish bins and fences brings the city's history to life in miniature. Each building tells a storey, each scene has been provided with a wealth of small details that will amaze you.
The average visit lasts about 1.5 hours, but the fascinating insight into this world will offer you far more. Personal explanations and interesting anecdotes about the individual models bring you closer to the art-historical masterpiece and let you immerse yourself even deeper in the miniature world.
An experience for all generations: Whether big or small, young or old – this unique city model fascinates and enchants its visitors and lets them experience a city history that creates a large whole from tiny details. An unforgettable experience that you'll remember for a long time to come.
