What you can expect

Experience world-class off-piste terrain in St. Anton, St. Christoph, Zürs, or Lech with a certified mountain guide in the heart of the Arlberg. Join other skiers in one of the open groups from Level 1-3 to search out fresh powder lines in a fun and social group. Explore legendary freeride descents with an IFMGA/UIAGM mountain guide.

The day begins with our meet up Outside Anton bar (8.45) – by the main Galzig gondola where you will meet other members of your group and your guide who will provide you with safety equipment if you have requested this. Don’t forget to bring your backpack and helmet!

For those staying in Lech Zürs, or St Christoph, there is a morning bus which will get you in time to meet the group but please let us know if you are taking this so we wait for you. Taxis are a more relaxed way to get here!

We will then head to the slopes around 9 am. Your guide will do a quick safety demo on the mountain before we warm up with a quick on piste run to check your level.

The fun then begins as your guide will take you to the best off piste snow and terrain for your ability. Much of the Off Piste is lift accessed but there may be some short hikes (20-30 minutes) to get you to the best powder – for these hikes you will use your rucksack to carry your skis which is why you need the ski carry straps. If you have skins and touring skis you are also welcome to use these and in the Level 3 group we ask you always to bring these.

We will stop for a delicious lunch at a carefully selected mountain restaurant if requested and if it fits to the planned Off Piste routes. Then we have time for a few more Off Piste runs before returning at ca, 3.30pm. If you are touring then you may want to bring a sandwich and energy snacks.

To get the best out of your day and ensure you are in the right group for you we ask you to assess your skill level when booking from Level 1 (beginner off piste ) to Level 3 expert :

Level 1 - You are a good on-piste skier who can handle steep red runs without problems. Able to link turns and stop safely on steep slopes. You feel mentally and physically ready to go off piste and are physically fit.
Off piste experience 0- 3 weeks.
Piste experience - Minimum 6 weeks
We recommend our 3 day Intro course for this Level

Level 2 - You are confident and comfortable skiing off piste in moderate terrain. You are prepared to venture into more challenging terrain and snow conditions to further develop your off piste skills. You may be technically Level 3 but prefer a more relaxed pace.
Off piste experience minimum 3 weeks.

Level 3- You confidently ski off piste in all conditions including steep terrain, such as couloirs or steeper pitches. You are physically fit and enjoy a faster pace.
Off piste experience more 6 weeks.

The day ends either at an apres ski bar on the slopes if you would like to enjoy an apres drink or two with your group to celebrate the day, or back in the resort at Anton bar.
