Day 1: Travel from Cape Town to Oudtshoorn on the Wine Route R62

We depart from Cape Town at 8am heading to Oudtshoorn where we join the R62 Wine Route and travel through the Little Karoo Region. We go past several towns such as Robertson, Montagu until we reach Oudtshoorn.
The Cango Caves

We do a guided tour of the Cango Caves. The Cango Caves, located near Oudtshoorn in South Africa, are a magnificent subterranean wonder, renowned for their vast halls and intricate limestone formations. These caves stretch deep into the Swartberg Mountains, offering visitors a journey through stunning stalactites, stalagmites, and ancient rock formations. The main chambers, some towering up to 20 metres high, are illuminated to highlight their natural beauty, creating a surreal, almost otherworldly atmosphere.
