  • Guided tour of the cooperative mines of Cerro Rico, Potosí.
    Duration: 3 hours
Times: 9:00 AM and 2:00 PM
    Activities to be carried out
09:00 - 14:00 Start: We depart from the Amigos de Bolivia Tours head office. By private transport, we head to the gear point to receive and put on our safety gear: pants, helmet, jacket, waterproof boots, face mask, headlamp, and mining backpack.

9:30 AM - 2:30 PM We head to the Mercado Calvario Minero, where we'll see the supplies needed for mineral extraction. As this is a social visit, it is recommended to bring small gifts for the workers. Outside the mine, we'll meet the “palliris”, women dedicated to the selection of the mineral. Inside, we will visit the chapel of the “Tío”, the protective deity of the miners, and closely observe the daily work and the transport wagons. Finally, we will visit the vantage point where we will enjoy a panoramic view of the entire city, where the Spanish and indigenous division of the colonial era can be seen.

12:00 PM - 5:00 PM End: We finish at the “Amigos de Bolivia Tours” head office.

    The tour includes:
Private transport, professional tour guide in multiple languages (English and Spanish), entrance ticket to the mine, safety gear, visit to the mines (boots, pants, jackets, hard hat, and lamp), bottle of water.
