Day 1:
Starting at 8:00 AM, your driver and tour guide will pick you up from your accommodation to purchase a 2-day temple pass before driving the 37 kilometres to the Banteay Srey Temple, followed by the Beng Mealea jungle temple. This temple is largely overrun by vegetation, and is very rarely visited by tourists. After touring this construction, which has an “adventurous lost temple” feel for photographers, your guide will work closely with you to discuss your lunch stop at a local restaurant.
On the way, you will stop at Kampong Phluk, a floating village on Tonle Sap Lake. Here, you can watch the sun set over the largest lake in East Asia. You will then be brought to your accommodation, or can alternatively request to be dropped off somewhere nearby in the city.
Day 2:
It is suggested to start early on your second day. At around 5:00 AM, your driver and tour guide will pick you up from your accommodation to experience the sunrise at Angkor Wat. After the morning crowds leave, you can continue to explore this incredible monument at your own leisure, gaining insight into the Khmer Empire.
You will then head to the jungle temple of Ta Prohm, which was the shooting location for the film “Tomb Raider”. Your guide and driver will then discuss with you your lunch stop and help you choose a local restaurant. Following lunch, you will visit the ancient city of Angkor Tom, which boasts many iconic sights to explore.
Your last attraction will be a visit to Preak Khan temple, in the Grand Circuit. At the conclusion of your tour, you will be brought back to your accommodation, or can alternatively request to be dropped off elsewhere in the city.
