Spend a day exploring Norman art, seaside towns, and relaxing in the water in northwestern Sicily. This tour takes you first to Monreale, famous for its cathedral rich in mosaics, and then to Cefalù, where you will have time to visit the historic centre and enjoy a swim in the coast's most renowned waters.
After the pick-up point, your first stop is Monreale: you will have approximately 1 hour to tour the Cathedral of Monreale, one of the greatest examples of medieval ecclesiastical architecture in the south of Italy, renowned for its extraordinary interior and the magnificence of its mosaics. Next to the cathedral, you can also see the Cloister, part of the historic Benedictine complex commissioned by William II at the end of the 12th century, a masterpiece of Romanesque architecture and sculpture in Sicily.
Afterwards, you will travel to the beautiful Cefalù, where you will have approximately 4 hours to explore. You can stroll through the narrow streets and enjoy views of the sea, visit the 12th-century Duomo di Cefalù, and discover historical details about its heritage. One of the most distinctive features is a restored washhouse dating from 1514, with stone basins and wrought-iron spouts. The day ends in the best possible way: you'll head down to the sea for a dip in Cefalù's famous waters, which are perfect for relaxing and cooling off.
