Take a step back in time as you embark on a journey through the historic streets of London, following in the footsteps of William Shakespeare and his fellow actors.
We start our tour in what is considered one of the most bustling and fashionable boroughs of London, and the birthplace of British theatre. You will learn about Elizabethan England and the measures that led to the establishment of the very first theatres in London. Your guide- a classically trained actor and native Londoner- will beguile you with fascinating stories and anecdotes, treat you to a sample of some authentic Elizabethan snacks, and read you tracts from Shakespeare's plays and sonnet's of the day- at the very places they were first spoken and performed, as you immerse yourself in London's literary past.
Our tour takes in some of London's most iconic sites, including St Paul's Cathedral, and the Barbican, as well as many lesser-known gems. You will discover hidden monuments to Shakespeare, as we explore the city's historic side-streets, completing our extraordinary journey on the Southbank of the Thames, and the site of Shakespeare's most famous theatre- The Globe.
