What you can expect

What if shamanism is not a relic of the past, but something still alive in modern Korea?

Begin with a 30-minute guided introduction designed to help you understand what you are about to experience — not as an outsider, but with cultural context.

You will explore the difference between Saju (Four Pillars) and Shinjeom (Shamanic reading) — two completely different ways of understanding fate. You will also learn the distinction between Gangsinmu (spirit-called shamans) and Sesupmu (hereditary shamans), and what this reveals about Korean spirituality.

We then trace the deeper historical roots of shamanism — from the myth of Dangun, to the role of ritual leaders in ancient kingdoms such as Gyeongju, and how these traditions survived periods of Confucian suppression into modern Korea.

Rather than presenting this as abstract knowledge, the introduction connects past and present — helping you understand why shamanism still exists in contemporary Korean society.

After this, you will meet a practising shaman and receive a private one-hour reading.

You can choose between:

  1. Saju — a structured, analytical reading based on your birth date and time
  2. Shinjeom — a more intuitive, spiritual reading based on the shaman’s connection

If you are unsure, your guide will recommend the most suitable option based on your intention.

Throughout the session, interpretation is provided, so you can fully understand not just the words, but the meaning behind them.

This is a small-group, guided experience designed to offer a deeper and more personal encounter with Korean culture.

This is not just a performance, but a rare opportunity to experience a part of Korea that most visitors never encounter — something still alive today.
