What you can expect

Herb Garden Furano
The popular sightseeing complex and restaurant, Herb Garden Furano, is located in Kamifurano, Hokkaido. It is known for its seasonal flower fields and local dining. It offers travellers exploring the Furano region's famous floral landscapes a convenient, all-in-one stop. It's the perfect place to take a short break and grab some food.

The Patchwork Road
Driving through one of the most beautiful areas of Japan, the patchwork road in Biei, Hokkaido. There is a pretty network of roads, formed by different crops – such as potatoes, wheat, and sugar beetroot – weaving through the rolling hills, creating a massive, colourful patchwork.

Shikisai-no-oka
Shikisai-no-oka, or the Hill of Seasonal Colours, is arguably the most famous and spectacular flower paradise in Biei, Hokkaido. Officially known as the Panoramic Flower Gardens, this huge 7-hectare park is covered in bright flowers and is a sight to behold. When you stand at the edge of the gardens, you can see dozens of different flowers planted in rows. When they bloom, they form a stunning, three-dimensional “rainbow carpet” that goes on forever. The flowers change with the seasons. In spring, you'll see tulips and lupins, and in summer, it's lavender, sunflowers and sage.

The Shirogane Blue Pond and the Shirohige Waterfall
The Shirogane Blue Pond is a pond in ‘Tiffany blue’ colour. A pond that is a bit of a mystery because of its unique colour. The Shirohige Waterfall is famous for looking different from other waterfalls. People say that the waterfall looks like an old man's beard.

Farm Tomita
Farm Tomita is Hokkaido's most famous lavender farm. As well as the Traditional Lavender Field, where visitors can see deep purple lavender covering the sloped field of the Furano Valley, we can also watch how different colours of lavender mix together in the Irodori Field or Field of Shifting Colours. Here, we can see flowers of many other colours, such as white baby's breath, red poppies, pink catchflies, and orange marigolds. All of these flowers form a large, bright rainbow ribbon stretching across the hillside.

Ningle Terrace
Tucked away in the forest of Furano, Hokkaido, Ningle Terrace is a beautiful village of 15 timber craft shops. Located next to the New Furano Prince Hotel, it is named after a 15 cm tall “wise man of the forest” (a Ningle) from a series of novels by the Japanese author So Kuramoto. Each small cabin features locally made items, such as specialised candles, wooden crafts and silver jewellery, that cannot be found anywhere else. At night, the illuminated cabins create a romantic and relaxing atmosphere that is hard to find elsewhere.
