Noboribetsu Jigokudani Valley

Noboribetsu Jigokudani, also known as Hell Valley, is a famous volcanic valley in Hokkaido. Visitors can enjoy steaming vents, sulfurous scenery, and unique volcanic landscapes. The area is especially beautiful during winter when the valley is covered in snow. Oyunuma is a scenic volcanic pond located near Jigokudani, while the outdoor footbath is a popular place to relax and enjoy the natural hot water. Please note that Oyunuma and the outdoor footbath are closed in winter due to road conditions. Visitors can still explore the main Jigokudani area and enjoy its impressive volcanic scenery.

Shōwa-shinzan

Showa-Shinzan is a unique volcanic mountain in Hokkaido that was formed during a volcanic eruption in the 1940s. Visitors can admire its impressive rugged landscape and enjoy beautiful views of the surrounding area. The mountain is located near Lake Toya and is a popular sightseeing attraction. Visitors can also take photos of the dramatic volcanic scenery and learn about the area’s geological history. During winter, the mountain and surrounding landscape can be covered in snow, creating a beautiful seasonal view. Please note that access to certain areas may be affected by weather and road conditions. Enjoy a relaxing visit while following local safety instructions and staying within designated viewing areas. Showa-Shinzan itself, there is generally no admission fee to view the mountain. However, optional attractions such as the Usuzan Ropeway require a separate ticket.

Lake Toya
