Lao Chai - Ta Van village is 7 km far from the centre town where ethnic minority communities are living. The tourist will enjoy marvellous panorama of the village with the fresh air, see terrace fields (Sapa’s terraced fields has been voted one of the world’s seven most beautiful and magnificent terraced fields in the world by US-based Travel & Leisure Magazine), you can also learn about their culture and customs.

Bac Ha Market in Lao Cai Province is a vibrant Sunday market showcasing the culture of local ethnic minorities. Visitors can explore colourful traditional attire, handmade crafts, fresh produce, and enjoy authentic dishes like “thắng cố.” Surrounded by stunning mountain views, it’s a unique cultural experience not to be missed.

Day 1: Hanoi - Sapa Valley - Cat Cat village

6:00 - 6:30: Our driver will pick you up at hotels in Old Quarter area and the meeting point then depart to Sapa (~6 hrs). After lunch we will visit local villages by trekking downhill to Cat Cat village which is occupied by the Black H’mong tribe. Visitors will be able to visit and learn about the customs and habits of ethnic minorities. Here, you can see the hydroelectric power station which was built by the French in twentieth century. Evening: After dinner, you are free to explore the charm of Sapa Town by night, enjoy roasted corn, baked eggs beside charcoal fire or go shopping.
Day 2: Trekking to Y Linh Ho - Lao Chai - Ta Van

After breakfast, the appointed guide will pick you up at 8:00 AM to trek to Y Link Ho Village (~ 1 hour). You will take a short break to experience the local theme.
Lao Chai

After a short break, we will start hiking through the rice terraces along Muong Hoa Stream to Lao Chai, the village of Black H’mong minority. Here you will enjoy the spectacular landscape of Hoang Lien Son mountain ranges.
Ta Van Village

Trekking from Lao Chai Village to Ta Van village. They are the biggest villages in Sapa. Have lunch at a local restaurant in Ta Van village and short break. The driver will transfer you back to hotel in Sapa. Dinner at local restaurant.
Day 3: Sapa - Bac Ha Market - Hanoi

Bac Ha Market

7:00 - Driver will pick you up at hotel to Bac Ha market (3 hrs). At the market you will also meet Flower Hmong (Red Hmong), Black Dao, Tay, Nung, La Chi, Phu La and other tribal groups who come from far and wide to buy and sell a wide variety of goods and livestock, to exchange news and to renew friendships. In the past the market was a centre for trading horses but now that motorbikes have replaced them it is more common to see buffalo, cows, goats, fish and other. Lunch at local restaurant.
Bac Ha

After lunch break, we will trek to Ban Pho village of the Flower H’Mong people, to see their house, the daily life, understand little more about their lifestyle and traditional customs. Especially, we can try homemade wine from corn. Drive back to Sapa (3 hrs). 18:30 - Dinner at local restaurant. 21:30 - Sleeping bus will pick up and transfer you back to Hanoi (arrive at ~4:00 AM)
