Begin your adventure with a pickup directly from your accommodation or from the Port of Mindelo. Board a robust 4x4 vehicle and leave the city behind as you head towards Monte Verde. As you ascend to 750 metres above sea level, feel the change in temperature and be dazzled by the view: on one side, the Bay of Mindelo, on the other, the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean and the neighbouring islands.
After taking panoramic photos, dive into the rural heart of the island. Cross the Madeiral Valley, a traditional agricultural area where time seems to pass more slowly. Your Jeep takes you along paths that tourist buses cannot reach, passing by craters of dormant volcanoes and dramatic rock formations that tell the geological storey of Cape Verde.
Your final destination is the east coast. Visit the picturesque village of Calhau, with its extinct volcanoes by the sea. But the highlight of the journey awaits you on one of the region's wild beaches (Praia Grande or Saragarça).
While you relax and enjoy the sea breeze, your guide will prepare an exclusive picnic for you. Savour local delicacies such as fresh goat cheese, traditional meals and pastries, and tropical fruits, accompanied by fresh drinks. It's the perfect time to disconnect, swim in crystal-clear waters, and enjoy the peace that only isolated places offer.
With your batteries recharged and your memory full of incredible landscapes, return to Mindelo via a scenic route along the north coast.
