What you can expect

  • Observe the black lion tamarin, one of the world's most endangered primates, on an exclusive wildlife experience at Fazenda Garibaldi, a private reserve in the municipality of Buri, São Paulo State.

Accompanied by a specialist guide who is also a biologist and primate researcher, explore one of the last strongholds of this rare species, found nowhere else on Earth. Thanks to continuous monitoring and the fact that the tamarins are habituated to human presence, close encounters with the species are guaranteed.

Spend several hours following a habituated troop through the Atlantic Forest and observe their natural behaviour, social interactions, feeding habits, and movements through the forest canopy from remarkably close distances.

Because these primates are accustomed to human presence, this tour offers exceptional viewing and photographic opportunities rarely possible with wild animals. While following the troop, participants may encounter natural obstacles such as fallen logs and short ascents or descents along forest trails.

This is a unique opportunity to experience one of the planet's rarest primates in its natural habitat while learning about the conservation efforts helping to save the species from extinction.
