Day 1
Departure and Immigration:
Your adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hostel in San Pedro de Atacama. In a comfortable Mercedes Benz van, we will ascend 2,000 metres in 45 minutes, crossing the Chilean and Bolivian borders after a hearty breakfast.
Laguna Blanca and Laguna Verde:
Our first stops are the mesmerising Laguna Blanca and Laguna Verde. Admire the striking colours of these high-altitude lakes, surrounded by sacred volcanoes, and capture incredible photos.
Desert and Hot Springs:
Next, we visit the Salvador Dalí Desert, where the surreal landscapes inspire awe and make for great photo opportunities. Enjoy a relaxing dip in the Polques Hot Springs, where you can soak in warm waters while watching flamingos.
Geysers and Laguna Colorada:
Afterwards, we head to the Geyser del Sol de la Mañana, located at nearly 5,000 metres above sea level. Marvel at the fumaroles and eruptions in this otherworldly location. Our day concludes at Laguna Colorada, home to Andean flamingos, set in the stunning Eduardo Abaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve.
Overnight in Quetena Chico:
We'll have dinner and spend the night at a cosy hostel in the remote village of Quetena Chico.
Day 2
Valley of Rocks and Unique Formations:
Following breakfast, we journey north to the Valley of Rocks. Here, you’ll see fascinating formations like the Camel Rock and the Stone Tree, known for their unusual shapes sculpted by wind and time.
Laguna Catal and Gorge:
Our next stop is Laguna Catal, where you can explore the gorge and observe native Bolivian flora and fauna. Take in the serene landscapes and snap photos, then enjoy a delicious lunch.
Salt Hostel Stay:
The day ends with a restful evening at the famous salt hotel, where you'll enjoy dinner and prepare for the next day's wonders.
Day 3
Salar de Uyuni Adventure:
We depart early to the Salar de Uyuni, the world's largest salt flat. Experience the vast white expanse that stretches over 10,000 square kilometres.
Incahuasi Island Sunrise:
Arrive at Incahuasi Island for an unforgettable sunrise amidst ancient cacti. This elevated spot offers panoramic views of the salt flat.
Photo Opportunities:
On the salt flats, unleash your creativity with perspective photos using props. Visit the salt hotel and the Plaza de las Banderas, then marvel at the Ojos del Salar, where volcanic bubbles emerge in vibrant hues.
Colchani Village and Train Cemetery:
In Colchani, shop for unique souvenirs before visiting the Train Cemetery in Uyuni. This eerie yet fascinating site showcases Bolivia's industrial past.
