Discover Fenix, the new art museum about migration in Rotterdam. The museum is housed in a former warehouse on the docks, a place shaped by departure and arrival. Inside, you encounter art and stories that connect past and present, linking journeys like those of Albert Einstein and Willem de Kooning to the stories shaping Rotterdam today.

Artists from around the world explore what migration means. Experience works by Steve McQueen, Rineke Dijkstra and Shilpa Gupta. Their work touches on identity, loss, love and the search for a place to belong.

Step into the Suitcase Labyrinth, an installation of thousands of donated suitcases, each carrying a personal migration storey. In The Family of Migrants exhibition, striking historic and contemporary photography captures the realities of life on the move.

Fenix goes beyond its galleries. At Plein, the museum’s lively indoor-outdoor space, Rotterdam comes together. From performances and cultural events to markets and celebrations, this is where the city’s diversity comes to life.
