What you can expect

Being the Catacombs outside the Roman Walls, they are difficult to reach without private transport. The solution we offer, pick up and drop off, of a driver and private vehicle is essential to comfortably and safely getting to one of the major attractions of Rome: the Catacombs of St. Callixtus (or St. Sebastian on Wednesdays or special holidays).

Your Rome Catacombs Guided Tour in Rome is a unique experience that begins with a transfer with your private chauffeur in a very comfortable vehicle from your location in Rome onto your professional guide that will show you one of the best-known Christian burial grounds in Italy: the Catacombs of Rome!

Skip the line tickets to the Catacombs of St. Callixtus and discover a remote world underground with an expert guide along with a shared tour. As per strict Vatican rules the catacombs are only accessible in a group of minimum 2 to a max to 15 persons.

Explore the sprawling, underground network of burial tunnels, and learn about the unique history of the mysterious site.

On your way to the catacombs you will drive right on the famous ancient Appian Way.
On your return you will enjoy the view of the Aurelian Walls, the Pyramid of Caius Cestius, and appreciate a stop at a breathtaking panoramic view of Rome at Janiculum Hill (Colle del Gianicolo), in front of the Fontana dell'Acqua Paola well known as ''il Fontanone'' (stop, sightseeing and photo).

After the visit of the Catacombs your vehicle will be there at the parking area to finally drop you off at your destination in town.

The Catacombs of St. Callixtus one of the largest and most important underground cemeteries in Rome. They were the official cemetery of the Church of Rome in the 3rd century AD. Around half a million Christians were buried here, among them many martyrs and 16 popes.

Entering in The catacombs of St.Callixtus there are two small basilicas with three apses, known as the “Trichorae”.

The underground cemetery includes several areas.:
