Know before you book
- Carnival tickets are digital. The Customer Service Centre will provide all instructions and is available for any assistance.
- Sector 9 tickets guarantee assigned seats. Seat selection is not possible; seats are allocated based on availability. Guests in the same booking will be seated together.
- The personalised bag can be collected in person at the main entrance of the Sugarloaf Cable Car (Av. Pasteur, 520 – Urca, Rio de Janeiro – RJ). Available from February 11 to 17, and on February 20 and 21, from 10 AM to 7 PM. Look for the C2Rio team on site.
- Parade times have not yet been officially announced. Traditionally, the Access Group parades begin at 9 PM, while the Special Group and the Champions Parade start at 10 PM. The parades usually end around 4 AM, but times are subject to change.
- The minimum age to access the Sambadrome is 5 years. Children ages 5 to 17 must be accompanied by a guardian and hold a valid ticket.
- Access Group (February 13 & 14): Considered the “second division” of Carnival, it features traditional samba schools full of energy, competing for a spot in the Special Group.
- Special Group (February 15, 16 & 17): The elite of Rio’s samba. The largest and most renowned schools deliver spectacular parades as they compete for the championship title.
- Champions Parade (February 21): The top six schools from the Special Group return to the Sambadrome for an extra show. Without the pressure of competition, the atmosphere is lighter, more festive, and incredibly vibrant.
