From Mörel, you can take the cable car for a comfortable ride up to the car-free Riederalp. You have two options to choose from: the large panoramic gondola to Riederalp Mitte or the smaller 6-seater gondolas to Riederalp West.

To get to the viewpoint on the Moosfluh, you board a cable car from Riederalp Mitte. The modern combination cable car (6-seater chairlifts and 8-seater gondolas) will take you to the stunning Moosfluh at 7,654 feet above sea level, with a direct view of the Great Aletsch Glacier.

In winter, the Hohfluh can be reached from Riederalp West by a 4-seater chairlift (with weather-protection hoods), but only when weather conditions are stable. In the summer, you can get there on foot. The two viewpoints, Moosfluh and Hohfluh, are located about 1.2 miles (2 km) apart (as the crow flies). A high-altitude trail connects them and offers additional views along the way.

Moosfluh Viewpoint:

• Unobstructed 360° views of the Great Aletsch Glacier, the four-thousand-meter peaks of Valais, and the Rhone Valley
• Platform with telescope
• Bar-Buvette offering snacks and drinks
• The Geology Trail (approx. 500 metres, 30-meter elevation difference) provides information at seven stations about glacier retreat, mountain movement, and cable car technology – also designed to be child-friendly.

Hohfluh Viewpoint:

• Clear views of the Great Aletsch Glacier, the Rhone Valley, and many of Valais' four-thousander peaks
• Observation deck with benches and information boards about the glacier region; from here, you can see the glacier's impressive contours
• Telescope for detailed views of glaciers and mountains
• Starting point for scenic trails towards Moosfluh and Riederfurka, ideal in good weather

  The two valley stations of the Riederalpbahn cable car are located right next to each other in Mörel. The journey time is approximately 12 minutes each way.

Chairlift to Moosfluh:

• Riederalp (Mitte) 6,118 feet above sea level
• Moosfluh, 7,654 feet (2,333 metres) above sea level
• The ride takes approximately 7 minutes.

Chairlift to Hohfluh:

• Riederalp (West) 6,118 feet above sea level
• Hohfluh, 7,306 feet (2,227 metres) above sea level
  The ride takes approximately 4 minutes. The facility is open during high season, from mid-July to mid-August.

The Great Aletsch Glacier:

• UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site
• Approximately 20 kilometres in length

Hike with views of the Aletsch Glacier:
A well-signposted hiking trail runs between the two viewpoints. Particularly popular is the panoramic winter hike from Moosfluh via Hohfluh to Riederfurka and back to Riederalp (approximately 5.7 km / 3.5 miles, 1 hour 45 minutes, mostly downhill).

Luggage transport:

• Two items of baggage per person are transported free of charge.
• Luggage carts can be rented for additional luggage (subject to a charge). All luggage transport services are valid for the journey from the valley to the plateau (Mörel–Riederalp), and their use is permitted only within the cable car area.
