What you can expect

Begin your tour with a visit to Ahu Vinapu to see the wall of Ahu Tahira, which is very similar to the Inca walls. See a moai made of red scoria that could be representing a woman with two heads.

Continue with the tour and drive to the Rano Kau Volcano, which has the largest and most beautiful crater on the island. Admire the impressive views and the sea surrounding the people, making you feel like you're at the centre of the world.

To learn about the last stage of the island's history before the arrival of Catholic missionaries, head to the Ceremonial Village of Orongo. Learn in detail about the Birdman competition or Tangata Manu, which lasted more than 2 centuries and ended approximately in 1864.

Learn about this activity, which consisted of going to the islet Motu Nui in search of the Manutara bird's egg to be proclaimed king or leader of the island. Back in the village, enjoy a beautiful sunset, full of colours, sitting in front of Ahu Tahai or anywhere near the sea.
