Full-Day Excursion: Culture, Nature & Flavours of Taha’a
Your adventure starts at Uturoa or Vaitoare with a short lagoon cruise to La Vallée de la Vanille in Faaaha. Here you’ll learn how Taha’a’s famous vanilla is grown and processed, and why the island is known as “Vanilla Island”.

Next, glide over turquoise water to the north coral garden, far from the crowds. Slip into the lagoon with provided snorkelling gear and drift over colourful coral, tropical fish, and crystal-clear water.

Then it’s time to relax and refuel with lunch on Motu Tuahi. Enjoy a light island-style meal with fruit juice and water, swim in the shallow lagoon, or simply unwind on the beach and take photos of this idyllic setting.

In the afternoon, visit Iaorana Pearl Farm, where you’ll discover how Tahitian pearls are cultivated and graded, and you’ll have time to browse the boutique if you wish. The day continues at Mana’o Va’eva’e Rum Distillery, where you’ll learn about traditional rum-making and its connection to Polynesian agriculture and culture.

Throughout the day, your captain is also your guide, explaining local traditions, answering questions, and making sure everyone feels welcome and looked after.

Short on time but still want the magic of Taha’a? The semi-excursion is perfect for a relaxed lagoon day.

Departing around 9:00 AM from Uturoa or Vaitoare, cruise to the north coral garden for about an hour of snorkelling among coral and reef fish. Afterwards, head to Motu Tuahi for lunch and free time. Spend the rest of the day swimming, sunbathing, exploring the shallows, or simply enjoying the peaceful motu atmosphere before returning around 3:30 PM.
