The day starts by meeting with the guide in Saranda and starting the transfer towards Permet, home to one of the last wild rivers in Europe. This excursion will be a combination of nature, adrenaline, and relaxation.
The drive from Vlora to Permet will cross valleys, small villages, and mountain landscapes until you reach the Vjosa River. Along the way, you will pass by Memaliaj, a small town known for its mining legacy developed during the Communist period. Later on, you will pass through Tepelena, known for the castle that served Ali Pasha, a powerful and charismatic ruler of southern Albania during the Ottoman period. Afterwards, you will pass by Këlcyrë Gorge, a narrow pass carved by the Vjosa River over time.
Once you reach your destination, you will continue with the briefing and safety instructions and receive the equipment needed for the rafting activity. You start navigating through gentle rapids and stunning canyons surrounded by untouched nature.
After the thrilling, adrenaline-filled activity, you will have a short transfer to the Benja Thermal Baths, where you can relax in warm waters with healing properties or admire the beautiful 17th-century Ottoman stone bridge.
Transfer to Permet follows, where you will have free time at your own leisure to enjoy the tasty local dishes the area is famous for.
Afterwards, you will visit a local family workshop/factory producing jams and gliko, traditional desserts for which Permet is well known.
Later on, it is time to return to Vlora, enjoying a relaxing drive back and concluding this nature-filled and memorable day trip.
