What you can expect

  • Old Québec is the most European corner of North America, and every bite on this tour tells you why. Walking through 400-year-old streets with a local guide, you'll taste the full range of Québécois food culture: wild forest ingredients, generations-old comfort food, and modern takes on regional classics.

Your journey opens with a refined two-course starter pairing earthy Lion's Mane mushrooms with a delicate duck breast carpaccio. Next, a trio of Québécois staples warms you up: silky pea soup, savoury pâté chinois, and maple taffy pulled fresh just like at a traditional cabane à sucre. Step inside a cosy 200-year-old home for hand-made gnocchi bathed in Île-aux-Grues cheddar, cream, shallot, and white wine, finished with a black garlic crumble. A sweet alley stop brings sucre à la crème and what many locals call the best croissant in the city. Then you close the only way you should: with poutine.

On Sundays and Mondays, the gnocchi stop is swapped for a warming oat risotto crowned with a rock shrimp salad. Secret Food Tours keeps groups small so every stop feels personal, not like a crowd.
