Overview

Here are more reasons, still kept simple:

  • Ancient engineering mystery: The pyramids, especially the Great Pyramid of Great Pyramid of Giza, were built over 4,500 years ago with extremely precise alignment that still puzzles engineers today.
  • Iconic monuments together in one site: You don’t see just one structure—you see the full royal complex:
Pyramid of Khafre, Pyramid of Menkaure, and the desert plateau all in one panoramic view.
  • The Sphinx mystery: The face and purpose of Great Sphinx of Giza are still debated, which adds curiosity and storytelling to the visit.
  • Real desert experience: You’re not in a museum—you’re walking in open desert where ancient kings were buried.
  • Cultural experience: Local guides, camel rides, and viewpoints give you both history and living Egyptian culture in one tour.
  • Photo opportunities: It’s one of the most photographed places on Earth, especially panoramic shots of all pyramids together.

Activity itinerary

Giza

  • 30m
The Giza Plateau is a famous archaeological site near Cairo, Egypt. It contains: * Great Pyramid of Giza (the largest and oldest pyramid) * Pyramid of Khafre * Pyramid of Menkaure * Great Sphinx of Giza It was built during Egypt’s Old Kingdom (around 4,500 years ago) as royal tombs for pharaohs and is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still standing today.

Khafre's Pyramid

  • 30m
The Pyramid of Khafre is one of the three main pyramids on the Giza Plateau, built for Pharaoh Khafre around 2550 BCE. Brief facts: * Slightly smaller than the Great Pyramid, but appears taller because it sits on higher ground * Still has parts of its original smooth limestone casing at the top * Part of a larger complex that includes the Great Sphinx of Giza * Located near Cairo * Part of Khafre’s funerary complex for royal burial and rituals It’s one of the best-preserved pyramids and gives a strong impression of what all the pyramids originally looked like when fully covered in polished limestone.

Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu)

Menkaure Pyramid

  • 30m
The Pyramid of Menkaure is the smallest of the three main pyramids on the Giza Plateau, built for Pharaoh Menkaure around 2510 BCE. Brief facts: * About 65 metres tall (much smaller than Khufu and Khafre’s pyramids) * Built with limestone and some granite in the lower courses * Part of a larger funerary complex with temples and smaller satellite pyramids * Located near Cairo * Still shows some remaining outer casing stones at the base Even though it’s the smallest, it’s known for its more refined construction quality and detailed craftsmanship.

Panorama view pyramids

  • 30m
A panoramic view of the Giza pyramids shows the full spread of the Giza Plateau in one frame, including the three main pyramids and the surrounding desert. From a wide viewpoint, you can see: * The Great Pyramid of Giza dominating the skyline * The slightly smaller Pyramid of Khafre on higher ground * The Pyramid of Menkaure further south * The vast desert blending into the edge of Cairo Panoramas are especially striking at sunrise or sunset, when the pyramids cast long shadows across the sand and the light highlights their massive geometry.

Valley Temple of Khafre

  • 15m
The Valley Temple of Khafre is part of King Khafre’s funerary complex on the Giza Plateau, located near the Great Sphinx and connected to the pyramid by a long causeway. Brief overview: * Built around 2550 BCE during Egypt’s Old Kingdom * Made mainly from massive limestone blocks and granite pillars * Served as a ritual site for mummification and purification of the king’s body before burial * Strongly associated with the nearby Great Sphinx of Giza Why it’s important: It is one of the best-preserved temple structures from the Old Kingdom and shows how carefully the ancient Egyptians designed the entire pyramid complex—not just the pyramid itself, but also the religious and ceremonial buildings around it.

Great Sphinx

  • 20m
The Great Sphinx of Giza is a massive limestone statue on the Giza Plateau, near the pyramids of Cairo. Brief facts: * Built around 2550 BCE, during the reign of Pharaoh Khafre * Has a lion’s body and a human head, likely representing Khafre himself * Measures about 73 metres long and 20 metres high * Carved directly from the natural limestone bedrock Purpose: It is believed to have been a guardian statue for the pyramid complex, symbolising strength and royal power. Interesting notes: * The Sphinx is aligned with Khafre’s pyramid complex and the Valley Temple of Khafre * Its nose is missing, and its original appearance is still debated * It is one of the oldest and largest statues in the world It remains one of the most iconic symbols of ancient Egypt.
